Daniel F. Rahill, CPA/PFS, JD, LL.M., CGMA

Dan Rahill is the Wealth Strategist at Wintrust Wealth Management, where he works with affluent individuals, business owners, and multi-generational families to develop income tax, estate planning, investment, and business succession strategies. His expertise includes working with privately held businesses on mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, succession, and wealth transfer planning.

Dan joined Wintrust in 2019 as a Managing Director after a distinguished career in public accounting and law, having previously served as the tax managing partner of KPMG’s Chicago Tax Practice and a trustee of the KPMG Foundation.

Dan is a past Chairman of the Illinois CPA Society and a recipient of their 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award. He is currently Treasurer and board member of the American Academy of Attorney-CPAs and has served on three academic advisory boards.

Dan is a published author on financial planning topics and frequently lectures to family office organizations, trade and industry groups, and CPA and bar associations. He is regularly interviewed in the media and is a frequent contributor to WBBM Radio’s Noon Business Hour and WGN TV and radio news programs.

Dan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and was awarded the 2008 Accounting Alumni of the Year. He received his law degree and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the DePaul University College of Law and is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court. Dan has earned the AICPA’s Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) accreditation and has a FINRA Series 65 Investment Advisor Representative license.
